The VIllage offers free Notary services as a courtesy to all incorporated residents.  Notary services are available at the Civic Center, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3 pm.

Village Notaries may notarize many types of documents, including:

  • Village-related documents
  • Permission slips for minors
  • Affidavits
  • Contracts
  • Healthcare directives
  • Power of Attorney

Notaries cannot perform the following services:

  • Notarize photographs, wills, mortgages, trusts, real estate documents, or I-9 forms
  • Certify copies of birth, marriage, divorce, or death certificates

Please note the following requirements:

  • Proof of residency
  • Place a marker at all signature lines in the document
  • All signers must be present and provide government-issued identification
  • Witnesses are not provided by the Village. We ask that you bring the required number of witnesses needed when coming to the Civic Center.
  • Ensure that all documents are unsigned

A Notary’s purpose is to attest the identity of the party signing the document and does not include legal interpretation of any documents.

A Notary has the right to decline any document that they do not feel appropriate to sign.

Notary services may also be found at Milton Township, UPS stores, select AAA locations, banks, currency exchanges, or other providers.
