The Village of Glen Ellyn is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Rodman as the Village’s new Assistant Village Manager. Rodman will fill the role, effective October 26, 2020.
The Village conducted an extensive national search process in which many qualified candidates applied for the position. Over 100 candidates applied to succeed former Assistant Village Manager William Holmer who recently left Glen Ellyn to become the new Police Chief in Carol Stream. The Assistant Village Manager directs human resources, IT, facilities functions and oversees Village communications, as well as serves as Acting Village Manager in the Manager’s absence.
Rodman, a Glen Ellyn resident for five years, has served as the Assistant Village Manager in LaGrange Park since 2011. She also served as the Senior Planner and Planner for the Village of Woodridge to round out her 17 years of experience in local government. Rodman received her Masters of Science in Urban and Regional Planning with an emphasis in Economic Development and Community Development from the University of Iowa. She also received her Bachelor of Liberal Arts in German and an International Business Certificate from the University of Iowa.
“As both a local government administrator and a resident of Glen Ellyn, I am honored at my appointment of Assistant Village Manager,” said Rodman. “I am excited to have the opportunity to work for a dynamic community and play an instrumental role in collaboratively working with Village staff and the Village Board in achieving the goals and visions for the community.”
