Something Is Always Happening in Glen Ellyn

Something Is Always Happening

Just a few miles west of Chicago, the Village of Glen Ellyn, Illinois offers big city amenities with a small town feel. A historic downtown filled with unique shops, restaurants and seasonal events is just one of many attributes that draw visitors to this award-winning community. This season, Glen Ellyn is featuring a number of events and activities, sure to please both local residents and visitors to the area.

Letters To Santa Mailbox Arrives in Downtown Glen Ellyn

New this year to downtown Glen Ellyn, children seeking to send their Christmas wishes to Santa Claus may drop them off at Glen Ellyn's very own Letters to Santa mailbox. The Santa mailbox is located on the northeast corner of Main Street and Crescent Boulevard.

Letters “mailed” by Friday, December 20 will receive a response from Santa, along with a signed photo, thanks to a special arrangement the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce and the Glen Ellyn Infant Welfare Society has made with the North Pole. Please make sure letters include a return address so that Santa can reply!

Holiday Treats, December 3

Back for the third year, Holiday Treats delivers the same holiday spirit and experience with your child, however, packaged a bit differently. In partnership with the Glen Ellyn Public Library, participation in this event provides a treat box containing two custom-made holiday cookies with a drink, along with a QR code to participate in a virtual age-appropriate escape room. Proceeds from this event benefit Metropolitan Family Services. More information HERE.

Downtown Valet Parking: Begins November 14

The Village will be offering seasonal valet parking, available in the downtown beginning November 14. This free valet parking service is available to all visitors of the downtown. Hours, which are subject to change, will include Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Access to the valet parking will be located on Main Street with two locations, on both the north and south side of the tracks.
