Curbside Collection of Bulk Electronics (E-Waste)
The Village of Glen Ellyn offers residents curbside collection of bulk electronics (E-waste). Residents have the opportunity to dispose of e-waste items at the curb on collection day. The e-waste collection includes computers, televisions, printers, keyboards, fax machines, video game consoles, cable receivers, among other items.
This is a voluntary, fee-based service offering. Residents must phone ahead to Groot Industries 847-429-7370 by 5 p.m. the Friday prior to regular Monday refuse service for a special pick-up.
Residents can either use the correct number of E-waste stickers or the correct number of refuse stickers. Groot will honor either/or when collecting the E-waste special collections.
E-Waste Collection Pricing:
Televisions and Monitors: TVs and monitors are accepted, pricing is dependent on size.
- TVs & monitors < 25" = $29.40 (10 refuse stickers or 5 e-waste stickers)
- TVs & monitors > 25" = $47.07 (16 refuse stickers or 8 e-waste stickers)
Bundles of E-Waste Items: Shall not exceed the size of a brown paper grocery bag of approximately 12 x 7 x 4 inches.
- $17.64 (6 refuse stickers or 3 e-waste stickers)
Single Small E-Waste Items: Shall not exceed the size of a shoe box of approximately 12 x 7 x 4 inches.

DuPage County Electronics Recycling
In order to assist DuPage County residents with collecting unwanted electronics and to ensure environmentally-responsible recycling of these devices, DuPage County has partnered with eWorks Electronics Recycling Services, Inc. and ERI to develop an electronics recycling drop-off program to collect electronics throughout the county on a regular basis.
