Move Glen Ellyn (GE) is an organized Village effort overseen by the Department of Public Works with involvement from other departments such as Planning and Development, Police, and Administration. The plan was prepared in response to a recommendation in the Downtown Plan. Consulting support was provided by Realign, a complete streets-focused planning partnership of the University of Illinois at Chicago master’s students.

Launched in late January 2014, the plan has received outside support from the:

- Element Multisport bike shop
- The Glen Ellyn Park District
- League of Illinois Bicyclists
- Numerous residents and private stakeholders
- The West Suburban Bike Advocacy Council
