The Glen Ellyn Police Department will not be enforcing overnight parking restrictions from 2-6 a.m. through April 30, 2020. Enforcement will resume May 1. During the period of non-enforcement, it is not necessary to call the Police Department regarding on-street overnight parking.
Parking on Village streets between 2am and 6am is not permitted under Village Code section 9-2-3(K), however residents and guests may contact the Police Department at 630-469-1187 to request permission for overnight parking in exceptional circumstances. Vehicles given permission for overnight parking on Village streets must comply with all other state and local parking restrictions. Permission is granted at the discretion of the Police Department and may be rescinded or denied as deemed appropriate. Common reasons for denials include an excessive number of requests and outstanding parking fines.
There are a number of parking restrictions enforced throughout the community. All Village streets have a 5-hour limit between 6am and 6pm, unless otherwise posted. Throughout the central business district and nearby streets, more restricted time limits are posted and enforced. The central business district has a number of parking lots, including those with parking meters, customer-only parking with time restrictions, and municipal permit lots. Please read all signs carefully. Additional information about parking may be found here.
