[ARCHIVED] Holiday Light Strand Recycling Begins December 2

Holiday Light Strand Recycling 2019

Once again, the Village has partnered with Elgin Recycling to provide free holiday light strand recycling beginning Monday, December 2 through February 1, 2020.

A drop-off container will be conveniently located in the lobby of the Civic Center, 535 Duane Street. Holiday light strands and extension cords will only be accepted.

During last year's collection, the Village recycled over 2,800 pounds of light strands and extension cords. This is an eco-friendly alternative to putting these items in landfills.
