The Village of Glen Ellyn, in conjunction with event coordinators, regretfully announce the suspension of all community-wide events through July 2020. This includes many of the annual events the community offers, hosted by the 4th of July Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, the Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn, among other local organizations.
Under the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan, gatherings of 50 people or more are not to be permitted until a region of the state is in Phase 5 (Illinois Restored), at which time it is deemed post-pandemic on the basis of either a vaccine, effective and widely available treatment, or the elimination of new cases over a sustained period of time.
Planning for future events will depend on the current status of the Restore Illinois plan. The Village will continue to assess the progress of the Plan for consideration of events beyond July. Updates will be shared as they are made available.
As always, the health and safety of Glen Ellyn residents and visitors is the Village’s top priority. Village staff and officials remain fully committed to meeting the needs of the Glen Ellyn community during and after this crisis.
