The Village of Glen Ellyn is a welcoming community to all. Hateful criminal acts and racism are an affront to the values and beliefs of our community and will not be tolerated. The men and women of the Glen Ellyn Police Department have sworn an oath to protect all residents and guests of Glen Ellyn, and to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Accordingly, the Village of Glen Ellyn and the Glen Ellyn Police Department stand united with fellow residents against any and all acts of violence and racism within our community and reject discrimination towards any person under any circumstance.   A portion of our Statement of Values reads:

“In serving the community, we must treat all people fairly, with respect and without prejudice; be prepared and vigilant; respond immediately when we are needed; be approachable and open but respect confidentiality; work with the community to maintain community values; strive to keep problems from arising and resolve situations without worsening them; and observe high standards of behavior.”

The Village of Glen Ellyn is committed to continually engage with those we serve in a courteous and professional manner.  We have worked hard to earn and keep the trust of our community and we value and respect all citizens.  Consistent with the policies of the Glen Ellyn Police Department, we stand with our community, other law enforcement agencies, and the nation against discrimination, racial profiling, and excessive use of force.
