[ARCHIVED] Move with the Mayor Begins August 1

Move with Mayor

Village President Diane McGinley is joining other mayors in a nationwide initiative to reduce heart disease and stroke, the nation’s No. 1 killer, by encouraging residents to get up and get moving. President McGinley is kicking off “Move with the Mayor” beginning August 1 and spanning through the end of August. Due to the unprecedented nature of COVID-19 and to maintain everyone’s safety, this initiative will be virtual.

To participate, residents can log their daily physical activity minutes through this online form for the duration of August. Anything that gets your heart beating faster counts. Walk. Run. Dance. Play. Aim for at least 45 minutes per day.

MOVE WITH THE MAYOR™ (MWTM) is a national initiative that works with mayors across the country to challenge their communities to be more physically active. Mayors encourage their communities to be physically active to lower their chances of heart disease and its risk factors like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
