Beginning the week of May 13, Wachs Water Services will be performing a valve exercising and GPS location program of the Village's water main valves.
The exercising ensures that the valves can be located & properly operate, essential for minimizing the size of shutdowns when dealing with emergency repairs or planned work to the water distribution system. The GPS locating will allow the Village to update and increase the accuracy of utility maps.
The work will mostly take place from Roosevelt Road to the south end of the Village. This is the conclusion of a three year project to cover all of the Village's water valves. Approximately 500 valves will be inspected this year. The work is expected to take four to six weeks to complete, with crews typically working during normal construction hours (7 a.m. -7 p.m.) Monday through Friday. Residents should not expect to experience any disruption in service with this program. Questions can be directed to Public Works at (630) 469-6756.
