Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan marks the return of traditional conventions, festivals, and large events without capacity restrictions.
The Village of Glen Ellyn, in conjunction with event coordinators, are anticipating welcoming back larger-scale events this summer. This includes many of the annual events the community offers, hosted by the 4th of July Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, the Alliance of Downtown Glen Ellyn, among other local organizations. Please note that all events are subject to change per the guidelines set by the State's Restore Illinois Plan.
French Market: Sundays, May through September
Visit downtown Glen Ellyn every Sunday, now through September, to find locally grown produce, organic meats, fresh flowers, baked goods and much more! Glen Ellyn Fourth of July: Sunday, July 4
Parade and Fireworks
The Glen Ellyn 4th of July Committee plans to resume 4th of July 2021 festivities. These activities include Glen Ellyn's 4th of July Parade and Glen Ellyn's Grand Fireworks display. More information and details forthcoming on the Committee’s website at www.glenellyn4thofjuly.org.
Freedom 4-Mile Run
The Freedom Four will kick off at 7 a.m. “sharp” on Sunday, July 4, at Lake Ellyn Park. There will be wave starts every 15 minutes in groups of 100 runners. Pre-registration is required at www.FreedomFourRun.com and limited to 800 participants. All race packets must be picked up at Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center prior to 9:00 p.m. July 3. There will be no race packets given out on race day.
Suspended Events: Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta and Afternoon Festivities
In planning for summer activities, Glen Ellyn Park District staff reviewed current State of Illinois COVID-19 guidance and at that time, concluded that the Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta and July 4th Afternoon Festivities at Lake Ellyn Park would not take place for the summer of 2021. Jazz Up Glen Ellyn: Saturday, July 10, 4 p.m.
Enjoy Jazz Up Glen Ellyn two ways this year! Either reserve a space on the street to enjoy the show live or watch from the location of your choice. This year’s theme is the Chicago/New Orleans Connection. Limited seating squares will be available for purchase beginning June 10. Also enjoy the event virtually, via free live stream. Tour of Lake Ellyn Bicycle Race: Saturday, July 17
Returning for its 5th year, the Tour of Lake Ellyn promises fast-paced cycling action around the beautiful Lake Ellyn course. The challenging venue features a round-about, multiple climbs, a thrilling hairpin, and a tight final turn to the finish line on Lenox. Be sure to bring your family, friends, and bikes to enjoy Lake Ellyn for a day of thrilling professional and amateur racing, food, beer garden, and the annual Family Fun Ride. Sidewalk Sale Celebration: Friday, July 23 – Saturday, July 24

The Taste of Glen Ellyn & Village Fair: August 11-15
This five-day event takes place in the heart of the downtown Glen Ellyn, north of the tracks in the Glenwood/Crescent Parking lot. The annual event features a variety of live entertainment including nationally known performers and a community stage showcasing local youth groups.
