Glen Ellyn Letters - Traveling Art Installation

The College of DuPage Public Art Committee and Glen Ellyn Public Art Committee recently unveiled their newest project, a traveling installation of hand-painted letters featuring iconic Glen Ellyn locations. The letters were painted by Mexican artist and muralist Juan Chawuk, who previously worked on a similar project for the Frida Kahlo Timeless exhibition. The letters are 36" tall and span 22’ wide depicting iconic Glen Ellyn locations such as the clock tower, Lake Ellyn Boat House, The Glen theater, Stacy’s Tavern, the horse trough, and others.

The letters are sponsored by the College of DuPage and the JCS Fund of the DuPage Foundation. They are available to tour indoor locations such as schools, the Glen Ellyn Public Library, the Glen Ellyn Park District, the College of DuPage, and others. Requests to host the letters can be made by emailing

The letters are currently on display through the end of November at the Glen Ellyn History Center.
